To my children

CAREYCORN1

Nick, Molly, Anthony & Riley,

Today is the one year anniversary of my mastectomy.  I had no idea when I planned our trip that it was one year ago we all began this incredible journey with the Big “C” but I think it’s just perfect.  What a great date to begin the next chapter in our lives!

I know it’s been hard for all of you, watching me go through treatment.  The unknowns, the fear, the sadness.  It’s not something I wanted trust me!  But life works that way.  It throws curve balls at you when you least expect it and you just handle it.  I was able to “handle” it because of you.  You were my inspiration to get through this.  You are always my inspiration.  I had a reason to fight because of all of you.

I watched each of you handle my diagnosis in your own way.  Each of you navigating, trying to cope, while giving me your love and support.  You were incredible.  I couldn’t ask for anything more.  Simply stated – I think I have the best kids.

I think you’ve all grown from this experience.  I think you could see the love your father and I have for each other and our hope that you will have that in your life.  (Nick already does!)  I hope you realized that attitude is everything and that everyone has a reserve of strength in them to get them through the tough times.  And most importantly, that family is everything.  You are our everything!

It’s always been my dream to take my family to Ireland.  I am living my dream today with all of you.  It’s incredible when it comes true!

It’s time for us to celebrate life and heal from the past year.  Thank you for being such incredible human beings, thank you for all your love and support this past year and thank you for being part of my life.  I am forever thankful for all of you.

Now on to creating Cornacchini family memories!!

I love you!!!
